Best has affirmed the financial strength rating (FSR) of A+ (Superior) and the issuer credit ratings (ICR) of “aa” of the property/casualty members of Houston Casualty Group (HCC). Concurrently, A.M. Best has affirmed the ICR of “a” and the issue rating of “a” on $300 million 6.3% senior unsecured notes due 2019, as well as all indicative ratings under the shelf registration of the parent, HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. June 9, 2015 - HCC Life Insurance Company and Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc. have entered into an agreement whereby Tokio Marine will purchase all outstanding shares of HCC for $7.5 billion in an all-cash transaction. This is a 38% premium to yesterday's closing stock price for HCC.
March 25, 2014 - Fitch Ratings has affirmed the ratings of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. including the senior debt rating at 'A'. Fitch has also affirmed the Insurer Financial Strength (IFS) ratings of HCC's operating subsidiaries at 'AA'. Fitch's ratings reflect HCC's favorable niche in the specialty insurance markets, conservative capitalization, consistent and disciplined underwriting practices, and moderate financial leverage.

9/12/2013 Health Insurance Innovations, Inc. reported a growth in premiums of about 32% and a growth in revenues of 37% over prior year. Chief executive officer Michael Kosloske explained "we have enhanced our core operations with the introduction of innovative insurance solutions like our short-term medical product launched in cooperation with carrier HCC Life Insurance Company and have continued to grow higher-margin ancillary policy revenues through ancillary product enhancements and bundling of core medical and ancillary products". By using the call center to efficiently generate leads and sell multiple products, the sales process became more efficient.
7/27/2012 HCCMIS has launched a new web campaign that will offer missionaries advice on preparing for their missionary trip, as well as offer travel insurance options catered specifically to missionaries. Whether the service trip is based within a religious group, or a non-profit organization like Doctors without Borders, the website will provide helpful information to help ensure the trip is successful.
